About DOWiA

The DePaul Open Workshop in Anthropology (DOWiA) is a free and open lecture series aimed at connecting scholars of all levels with the public through accessible presentations on current anthropological research. DOWiA supports DePaul's missions of student-centered pedagogy and outreach by inviting scholars of all levels (from undergraduate to tenured faculty) and welcoming the public beyond the academy. DOWiA aims to highlight and amplify the significance of anthropological research from all subfields and themes (e.g., archaeology, ethnography, gender studies, etc.) in public life. Anthropology is uniquely suited to helping us collectively and individually live and work in an increasingly diverse and interconnected world.
