DePaul
Open Workshop in Anthropology (DOWiA):
CALL FOR PAPERS
The DePaul Open Workshop in
Anthropology is looking for speakers for its lecture series. These talks are
designed to present cutting-edge anthropological research to both public and
academic audiences. We encourage speakers to present their latest work to open
audiences, one that is comprised of academics, students and the general public.
To complement this, DOWA provides an opportunity for non-academic audiences to
engage in anthropological research discussions through attendance, commentary,
and Q&A sessions at DOWiA presentations.
DOWiA invites speakers of all levels
and anthropological sub-disciplines (ethnography, archaeology, medical
anthropology, etc.). DePaul has a record of encouraging its students to go to
the field an engage in research as part of their education. In line with this
we open DOWiA to students working on papers to present at
academic conferences, graduate students working on their prospectus or
dissertation presentations as well as young academics preparing job talks.
